Day 5- Mark
Chapter 5
31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”
32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Observation-
The word healed, in verse 34, is “sōzō”
which means: to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):
- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole. Jesus wasn’t just talking about her physical
healing but he was also talking about her spiritual healing too. At the end he said “Go in peace and be freed
from your suffering.”
Application-
When Jesus heals he wants to heal every area of our lives. He already knows everything about us so in our
vulnerability we need to be willing to reach out to him in faith and in doing so
he will make us whole.
Prayer-
Jesus, please bring healing to those areas of my life that rob me of peace
whether it is physical healing that I need or spiritual healing. Help me to cast all my cares on you, for I
know that you care for me.
~ Amen
